‘Russia continues its acts of state terrorism in Ukraine’, activists call for tougher sanctions

By Zoila Palma González: During a virtual roundtable this morning on Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, former chair of the Ukrainian parliament’s foreign affairs committee, Hanna Hopko, said Russia continues its acts of state terrorism. in Ukraine.

Hopko said it has now been 238 days of full-scale escalation since Russia began its attempt to destroy Ukraine.

Hopko noted that civilians are dying and Russia is using ballistic missiles and rockets.

Recently, Russia carried out nearly 200 strikes in 11 days in Ukraine.

“Russian troops are continuing their acts of state terrorism with attacks on energy and water infrastructure,” Hopko added.

The former parliamentarian said that Russia’s war against Ukraine is a threat to global food security since Ukraine is the biggest supplier of food, oil, wheat and grain.

Currently, Ukraine continues to advocate for tougher sanctions against Russia.

Ukrainians are calling for more support and solidarity from other countries to save lives.

Hopko said Ukrainians pray every day and the fighting spirit of the Ukrainian Armed Forces remains very high in defending freedom, liberty and dignity.
