JAIPUR: Unlike his party leaders, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasara has claimed that no one can deny that Veer Savarkar participated in the struggle for freedom and even been imprisoned for the sake of the homeland.

The congressional leader’s acceptance of Savarkar as a freedom fighter is seen as going beyond the party line.

Speaking at an event in Jaipur on the occasion of August Kranti Diwas on Monday, Dotasara said, “We cannot deny that Savarkar played no role in the struggle for the country’s freedom. He was talking about Hindu Rashtra but it was not bad at the time because our country was not independent and our Constitution had not been formed.

Dotasara’s remarks sparked a huge political row. Dotasara’s remarks gave the BJP the opportunity to embarrass the ruling Congress.

The BJP claimed that Dotasara’s statement directly implied that he recognized Savarkar’s contribution to the struggle for freedom and that the truth about Savarkar was finally accepted by congressional leaders such as Dotasara.

Congress has attacked Savarkar for decades. In fact, the ideologue Hindutva played a major role in the liberation of the country and the truth can no longer be hidden – as reflected in Dotasara’s remarks.

He argued, “The kind of ideology, work and thoughts that Savarkar had, if we read them in the history books then we find that he spoke of a Hindu nation, which didn’t was not a sin before independence as at that time our country was not free and the Constitution was not in force.

“However, after our country became independent, the Constitution was adopted and people of all castes and religions accepted it, the BJP and the RSS conspired to use Savarkar’s ideology to create discord. and make the brothers fight against each other. We are against this ideology. ”

The Rajasthan congressman also said: “We have to understand that Savarkar went to jail at that time and no one can deny it. But, after going to jail, he urged the British on four occasions to liberate, explaining its usefulness to the Briton It is recorded in the history books.
