Rich tributes paid to revolutionary freedom fighter

Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of the death anniversary of Alluri Sitarama RajuUnion Minister for Culture, Tourism and North East Region Development G Kishan Reddy with the state Minister of Tourism RK Roja on Saturday paid rich tributes to the statue of the revolutionary freedom fighter at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam.

After garlanding the statue, the Union Minister said various events were held throughout the year to honor the freedom fighter who led the Rampa Rebellion, starting July 4. With the coordination of the state government, said the Union Minister, events will be organized on the occasion of Alluri’s birthday across the country, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Bhimavaram and Visakhapatnam .

Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Tourism RK Roja said that although Alluri Sitarama Raju lived only 27 years, he continues to inspire people with his bravery and will remember him for 27 generations. “Alluri will remain immortal. The state government has named a district after Alluri as a mark of respect for the ‘Manyam Veerudu’. With the aim of realizing Alluri’s dreams and advancing his vision , Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy provides education for tribal students, protecting tribal rights and facilitating employment of tribal youth,” Roja said.

In addition, the State Minister for Tourism said that 22 acres of land were earmarked for the development of the Alluri Museum with support from the central government.

Mayor G Hari Venkata Kumari, Visakhapatnam MP MVV Satyanarayana, BJP MLC PVN Madhav, district officials accompanied the central and state ministers.
