Notes on Adelaide Podcast: Radio Revolutionaries

As Australian radio prepared to celebrate its centenary, this week’s episode looks back at the Adelaide radio pioneers who shaped the industry in that country.

Next year will be the 100e anniversary of radio in Australia. And like so many milestones for the medium, Adelaide will have plenty to celebrate, because it’s here that much of the history of what we once called wireless was shaped.

In fact, some of the biggest developments in radio have been launched here – ranging from news, sports and talk to the familiar FM formats that are ubiquitous across the country.

Veteran journalist and radio host Kevin Naughton joins us on this tour of Adelaide’s radio history – featuring some of the most amazing live radio reporting you’ll ever hear.
