Jr NTR on the role of a freedom fighter in RRR: So many hidden stories in our culture that need to be told

The magnum opus of the SS Rajamouli RRR with Jr NTR and Ram Charan received huge acclaim after its theatrical release on March 24. While it can’t be called “unprecedented,” it’s still mind-boggling to see the box office numbers and audience reaction. Tonight, the creators and cast gathered for a press conference and party to celebrate its huge worldwide success. Amidst this, Jr NTR shared his thoughts on playing Komaram Bheem, a revolutionary freedom fighter on the big screen.

Reflecting on his role, Jr NTR expressed that there are many hidden stories in our culture that he said should be shared with the world. “I think there are so many hidden stories in our culture that need to be told to the world. I think it’s our duty and our responsibility to the next generation. When Rajamouli makes such movies, he brought us back in the past and also he gave them back to society and passed things on to the next generation,” he said.

For the uninitiated, RRR tells a fictionalized story of the life of freedom fighters Komaram Bheem (Jr NTR) and Alluri Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan), and their struggle against British rule. It is set in 1920 when the two revolutionaries fell into oblivion before beginning their fight against British rule. Apart from them, the period action drama movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran in key roles. On Tuesday, RRR brought in around Rs. 726 crores. at the Indian box office.
