Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh: Read these inspirational quotes on his 113th birthday

Bhagat Singh 113th birthday: Bhagat Singh or Shaheed Bhagat Singh was born in September 1907 to a Sikh family in Banga village, Jaranwala Tehsil, Lyallpur district of Punjab province in British India (now Pakistan). At the age of 12, Bhagat Singh left school to travel to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre site just hours after thousands of unarmed people were killed. When he was 14, he participated in a protest against the killing of large numbers of unarmed people in Gurudwara Nankana Sahib. After the 1922 Chauri Chaura Incident, Singh joined the Young Revolutionary Movement and began advocating for the violent overthrow of the British government in India.

Bhagat Singh, along with Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar, were sentenced to death for conspiracy to kill John P Saunders, a British policeman. He died at the age of 23 but left a strong imprint of patriotism during his brief life. India celebrates today, September 28, 2020, the 113th anniversary of the birth of Bhagat Singh.
