Syracuse University (SU) students recently demanded a socialist revolution at a pro-abortion protest, saying Campus Reform expect a bloodbath.
“I firmly believe that we need a socialist society and to do this we need a revolution”, Katie Mott, A graduate student of the League and a member of the student committee of the Party for Socialism and Liberation, said Campus Reform. “Will there be bloodshed? Definitely. We need to take back our power.
The demonstration was organized by two groups of progressive students: the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) and the Syracuse chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
It took place in Walnut Park, near the central New York campus.
Campus Reform observed that many of the attendees were students who gathered following the leak of the Supreme Court’s draft opinion that could overturn Roe v. Wade.
“We are fully in favor of a socialist society”, said Mott. “So we don’t agree that 9 unelected Supreme Court justices decided our future.”
PSL student organizer Stephanie Kenific said Campus Reform that the Supreme Court should be abolished.

“It has been demonstrated time and time again that he is not a defender of the people, he is not a defender of democracy, he is a defender of the capitalist class,” Kenific said. “At every step, they voted to erode our hard-fought, hard-won rights.”
The protest featured speeches from participants and the crowd erupted in pro-abortion chants.
Campus Reform captured exclusive footage from the event.
“Sexism means we have to fight back, no justice means we have to fight back, racism means we have to fight back,” the crowd chanted.
The students also shouted, “Pro-life is a lie, they don’t care if women die.

Socialism is the only answer to protect pro-abortion policies. according to Mot. However, she says the transition would apparently not be peaceful.
“I mean we are a Marxist-Leninist organization, we believe in class warfare, we believe class warfare is the way to go. As we see right now, peaceful protests don’t bring us much, we need a new society,” she said.
Campus Reform contacted Syracuse University and both chapters for comment. This article will be updated accordingly.
